my vision: a simple, internet-based, global coordination system to accelerate sustainable, equitable, inclusive, and material economic empowerment for members of the global African diaspora.
my blockers: (1) suboptimal global coordination among black community networks, (2) suboptimal media representation of authentic and uplifting black identity and stories, (3) lack of meaningful access to capital and risk-adjusted, high-growth, investment opportunities for the black, non-professional investor class globally.
my vehicles: i've established a material equity position in 5 separate companies intended to serve as vehicles for commercial experiments aimed at engineering solutions to accomplish the above stated "vision" through deconstruction and amelioration of the above stated "blockers:"
(1) BuyNothing - a social network for sharing used stuff, so we buy fewer things and use our money to invest in more wealth-generating assets;
(2) tunji williams media - a digital media company focused on producing authentic and memorable content for the global African Diaspora;
(3) OnyxTV - a digital streaming platform designed for creators across the African Diaspora, and their most invested fans;
(4) Ikoyi Capital - the Y combinator meets a16z of Africa, connecting investor capital from the Diaspora with high-growth investment opportunities on the continent; and
(5) The Franklin Institute - a growth incubator for promising, spiritually-conscious, public servants.
my timeline: i pray that i'm blessed to work on fulfilling this vision and engineering solutions for the rest of my career.
