the value of a word of encouragement.

know the power of LOVE. i'm filled with overflowing, uncontainable love every time I think about each of the people who have offered me an unsolicited, unexpected word of encouragement at moments across my life so far. in those moments, they were my angels. today, they've become my teachers.

encouraging your fellow human being - especially when you know they need it - is a beautiful and raw act of love. it doesn't cost you a red cent, but creates immeasurable value. we are here on this earth to help one another. that's about more than sharing material things. when we share of ourselves through thoughtful encouragement of others, we unlock a magical layer of the human spirit for both ourselves and the recipient. at least, that's how it's worked for me.

if i could only teach my daughter one lesson, it'd be this one: everyday endeavor to genuinely encourage 5 people in your life. create a thoughtful list of 3 people from your existing network who you can meaningfully encourage, and leave space for 2 others who you just happen to meet.
