i shot these photographs yesterday while waiting for my iphone screen to get fixed...again. in this progression, there's a story about community, inherited conceptions of self, thoughtless consumerism, the hope of youth, and collective resilience. i also took some pictures of some funny-looking sculptures. enjoy!

term of the day: Multiple Discovery (also known as "Simultaneous Invention"). it's the hypothesis that most scientific discoveries and inventions are made independently and more or less simultaneously by multiple scientists and inventors. The concept of multiple discovery opposes a traditional view—the "heroic theory" of invention and discovery.

song of the day: As Far I Can Remember (Memories) by Pasteur Lappé. this one was recommended to me by a good friend yesterday. very groovy.
